Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist

As a Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist on Lyft’s Regulatory Compliance Team, you will be responsible for ensuring that Lyft’s background check processes run smoothly and efficiently. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and optimize processes that enhance driver screening, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations as well as Lyft’s safety policies. Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate driver background checks to ensure they comply with local regulations and Lyft’s internal safety policies.
- Conduct research on state and local regulations related to Transportation Network Companies (TNCs) and criminal law.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external parties regarding background check procedures and requirements.
- Assist the Compliance and Legal teams with issues related to driver background checks and any associated challenges.
- Become an expert on Lyft’s privacy policies and driver background check processes to assist in training support agents and managing escalated support cases.
- Analyze compliance processes and provide insights to improve workflows and ensure efficient background check operations.
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment while managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Skill & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in an internal audit, compliance, or related regulatory role.
- Strong ability to analyze and quickly grasp processes to determine if objectives and goals are being met.
- Proven multitasking abilities with a keen sense of prioritization and the ability to manage competing tasks under demanding deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on delivering accurate results quickly and iteratively.
- Passion for Lyft’s mission and the ridesharing community, with a commitment to maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work across teams and with external parties.
