Shopify is in hyper-growth mode, helping millions of merchants scale their businesses across the world. As a Senior Product Consultant for the USA region, you will be at the forefront of guiding Shopify’s largest merchants toward optimizing their e-commerce strategies, leveraging the full range of Shopify products. In this role, you will provide high-level, post-sales technical guidance and consultation, offering your expertise to help merchants navigate complex business systems, integrations, and customized solutions. You’ll be working directly with key stakeholders from Shopify’s largest and most complex merchants, ensuring their success by implementing innovative and effective solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert-level consultation services to large-scale merchants, including those on Shopify Plus, optimizing their e-commerce experience, implementing customized solutions such as Checkouts, Subscriptions, Inventory Systems, and Headless builds.
- Collaborate closely with Shopify’s internal teams, including Merchant Success, Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Support, to drive the success of your merchants.
- Lead conversations with executive-level stakeholders, confidently handling technical and strategic discussions to identify key areas of improvement and growth.
- Build and execute strategies that help merchants overcome complex challenges while optimizing their commerce solutions.
- Leverage your deep technical knowledge of Cloud-based technologies, APIs (REST and GraphQL), and Shopify’s suite of products to provide tailored advice and solutions.
- Drive product adoption by advocating for Shopify’s products and capabilities, ensuring that merchants are utilizing the platform to its full potential.
- Work closely with merchants’ internal and third-party design and development teams to integrate Shopify solutions and enhance the overall user experience.
- Sell consultation services to merchants, utilizing strong probing and positioning skills to identify areas where they would benefit from your expertise.
- Identify trends and common needs across your merchant base, sharing insights with internal teams to help drive product improvements and better meet merchant needs.
- Participate in diverse projects aimed at marketing and promoting Shopify’s new consultation services to drive growth in this evolving area of the business.
Skill & Experience
- Solid understanding of Cloud-based technologies and SaaS fundamentals, with a deep understanding of e-commerce business growth strategies.
- Proven expertise with APIs (REST and GraphQL), enterprise integrations, and troubleshooting complex technical challenges.
- Experience in strategic thinking, particularly in developing big-picture plans for e-commerce businesses, from technical architecture to scaling operations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage difficult conversations and set clear expectations with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a ‘solutions mindset’ to develop customized solutions for merchants pushing the boundaries of e-commerce.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the flexibility to wear multiple hats in a new and growing area for Shopify.
- Proven experience in selling services and offering value-driven consultations to complex merchants.
- Ability to collaborate across teams, work with third-party vendors, and integrate solutions for merchants of all sizes.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git/GitHub) and development languages such as HTML, Liquid, Ruby, and JavaScript.
- Experience working with Shopify’s templating language (Liquid) and understanding how themes can be customized and enhanced for merchants.
- Prior agency or consulting experience, preferably in the e-commerce or SaaS industry.

- Development experience or technical proficiency, as you’ll frequently interact with developers and tech teams, making it important to speak their language.
- Agency or consulting background, specifically in the e-commerce or SaaS sectors, with experience managing large accounts.
