Job Description

Teach For America – Nevada is seeking an experienced Senior Managing Director, Program to lead and oversee the full experience of our Corps Members (CMs) from recruitment to alumnihood. In this role, you will drive the strategy and execution of teacher development, student impact, and recruitment initiatives, ensuring alignment with our 2030 goal—doubling student proficiency in 3rd-grade reading across Clark County School District.

You will co-manage three Managing Directors, Leadership Development (MDLDs) and work closely with regional and national teams to ensure excellence in Corps Member placement, training, and in-service support. Additionally, you will develop strategic partnerships with districts, universities, and community organizations to enhance program effectiveness.

This role is based in Las Vegas, NV, and requires strong instructional leadership, program management expertise, and a passion for educational equity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead & manage the CM impact strategy alongside MDLDs and the Senior Managing Director, Leadership Development.
  • Develop and implement instructional, cultural, and strategic plans to improve CM and student outcomes.
  • Act as the programmatic lead for credentialing partnerships, ensuring alignment between coursework and practical application.
  • Build relationships with district leaders and community stakeholders to coordinate support for CMs.
  • Oversee CM placement strategies to ensure alignment with regional 2030 literacy goals.
  • Provide strategic leadership in Corps Member coaching, professional development, and school partnerships.
  • Drive efforts to attract a diverse cohort of new Corps Members.
  • Cultivate relationships with recruitment teams, university partners, and local organizations to expand the teacher pipeline.
  • Lead strategic selection and matriculation initiatives to ensure a strong and growing corps each year.
  • Represent Teach For America – Nevada in coalition efforts focused on diversifying the education workforce.
  • Travel within Nevada and nearby states to support recruitment and outreach.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities, regional meetings, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Contribute to Teach For America – Nevada events and regional initiatives.
  • Collaborate with national teams and stakeholders to drive alignment with the broader Teach For America mission.

Skill & Experience

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including teaching and educational leadership.
  • 3+ years of management experience, preferably with multi-layered teams.
  • Strong expertise in instructional design, teacher development, and coaching.
  • Proven ability to lead strategic partnerships and manage high-stakes external relationships.
  • Experience in program design, data analysis, and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to inspire and mobilize teams and stakeholders.
  • Passion for educational equity and disrupting systems that hold students back.

Bonus Skills

  • Early literacy expertise, particularly in the Science of Reading.
  • Experience as an instructional coach, administrator, or in teacher recruitment.
  • Knowledge of Nevada’s education landscape and communities.
